The fee for summiting the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, has been increased.
According to American media, Nepal has decided to raise the fee for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest by 35%.
The fee for summiting Mount Everest will now reach up to $15,000.
It is worth noting that in May of last year, Nepal’s Supreme Court instructed the government to issue a limited number of permits for climbers attempting to summit high mountains.
The court’s ruling emphasized that the capacity of the mountains should be taken into account. Therefore, it is essential to set a specific number of permits for mountaineering.
Eight of the world’s ten highest peaks are located in Nepal, including Mount Everest, the tallest peak on the planet.
